Searching and filtering in the LMS is now much more powerful. Administrators can perform multiple searches, make selections and perform actions on those selections. The LMS retains selections throughout multiple searches.
How to take advantage of this feature
One common way to use this feature is for enrolling multiple users in a course. You can search for a user, tick their box and then search for another user. You can do this multiple times without being concerned that your selection will be forgotten.

In the waning days of 2016, as we huddled around our board room fireplace with hot chocolate and crumpets, we took some time to reflect on a stellar 2016 and look forward to the incredible new innovations yet to come in the new year.
14 new courses
Traditionally VinciWorks has provided compliance training primarily to the legal sector. We proudly train over 20% of all UK solicitors and work with 60 of the top 100 global law firms.
In 2016 we expanded our corporate offering significantly and created courses that are tailored to many new industries.
This year we introduced the Corporate Compliance Suite, which includes courses on the Bribery Act, money laundering, information security, cyber security, diversity and the Modern Slavery Act. There are sector-specific courses for accountants, corporates, estate agents and financial services firms.
Other new courses
In the VinciWorks LMS there are many properties that can be customised through the “Edit Course Properties” screen.
- Access type (private vs. public)
- Pass mark
- Special instructions
- File attachments
- Feedback forms
Custom feedback forms
In the latest release we added the ability to link any course with external feedback forms. This enables firms to create custom forms in SurveyMonkey or other tools and prompt users to fill in the form after completing the course. Continue reading
As the November deadline for changes to CPD approaches, many law firms have a clearer vision for how to implement the SRA’s new approach to continuing competence.
The top feature request we have received is the ability to customise the VinciWorks Continuing Competence Module to fit with internal language and procedures.
Every single word and link can be customised
As you can see from the screenshot below, we have redesigned the software so that every word in the module can be modified. Some of the changes firms have made so far include:
- Links to internal career development frameworks
- Changing the words “learning needs” to “learning objectives”
- Hiding stage 4 of the process (the annual declaration) at certain times of year
You can now have any report generated by the LMS emailed to you automatically, either weekly or monthly. The reports are fully customisable and can be sent to any recipient.

Less than a year remains before the SRA’s new approach to continuing competency becomes mandatory. This webinar will demystify the regulations for solicitors, compliance officers, L&D departments and managers.
Are you debating when to adopt the new approach?
After this webinar you will have a clear understanding of the tools and next steps required for a successful transition. The webinar will include:
- Best practice
- Case studies
- SRA guidance
- Practical advice

Today, January 12, is the last time Microsoft will deliver security updates to users that are still using Internet Explorer 8 as well as most users that are still on versions 9 or 10.
From now on, only the most recent version of Internet Explorer available for a supported operating system will receive technical support and security updates. For example, customers using Internet Explorer 8, Internet Explorer 9, or Internet Explorer 10 on Windows 7 SP1 must migrate to Internet Explorer 11 to continue receiving security updates and technical support.
