Inclusion essentials

The brand-new course is available to preview and download from our Members’ Resource Centre.

Combining thought-provoking drama and powerful lived-experience testimony with insight from leading equality, diversity and inclusion experts, Inclusion Essentials looks at the benefits of being an inclusive organisation, the barriers and challenges faced by minority and marginalised groups in the workplace and beyond, and how to create an inclusive working culture where everyone can thrive.

We believe this is a fantastic mandatory course that you can take to all your employees, which has modules covering:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Neurodiversity
  • Parents
  • Carers
  • Race and culture
  • Religion and belief
  • Sex discrimination and gender bias
  • Gender identity and expression
  • Sexual orientation
  • Socio-economic status.

Sexual Orientation – New Content Coming Soon!
We’re very excited to announce that for our forthcoming course on sexual orientation, we have collaborated with Bristol’s LGBTQ+ choir Sing Out Bristol who have contributed with powerful lived-experience interviews and a glimpse into their rehearsal process, which will form part of the course, along with our usual dramas and subject matter expert interviews.

We will launch new lived-experienced videos towards the end of April, with the course available at the end of May ahead of Pride 2023.

New video bites:

Proving popular for internal training, we are working on 3 more Video Bites for the summer on the subjects of Supporting older workers, Interviewing candidates and Proximity bias.

Video bites:

2-5 minute ‘micro-learning’ modules about some of the key concepts and terminology that we use in our training.

Supporting sexual minority employees in the workplace

We will be holding a webinar on 31st May 2023 at 12pm – registration details to follow nearer the time, which will also be posted on our MRC Home Page in the coming weeks.

Organisations have increasingly shown their commitment to sexual minority employees and customers with inclusive marketing and rainbow advertising.

But what concrete steps should organisations take to support their sexual minority staff, and how can businesses celebrate Pride when there are still so many challenges that LGBTQ+ individuals face worldwide?

In this webinar, we drew on expert insight, ‘lived experience’ interviews and original drama to look at how an intersectional approach can support inclusion and help to achieve more equitable outcomes.

Members’ Resource Centre – Update

Given the growth in our supporting resources, I thought it might be useful to highlight the training materials that can be found under the Skill Boosters Resources menu tab in the MRC:

Film Library – over 450 video files are available to download to support internal training and events. These are broken down into Short Films, Course Lessons, Dramas, Lived Experiences, Video Bites and Conversation Starters.

Resource Packs – this collection of resources can help you support events signposted on our calendar.

Learner Notes and Guides – all the learner notes from our online courses can be downloaded as separate handouts and we have collated our growing number of guides into one section.

Trainer Packs – these resources can help you deliver a half-day workshop on 12 key topics.

MRC Help Centre – the Help Centre provides guidance to enable you to make full use of our MRC, with technical information, catalogues and marketing material that can help promote our courses internally.

Please do reach out to [email protected] if we can help you further.
