In the UK, approximately 1 in 5 students in higher education report having a disability or long-term health condition. Yet, only a third of these students feel they receive the support to succeed in their studies.
Despite the legal rights available to students with disabilities and long-term conditions, significant barriers remain. These range from physical obstacles in classrooms and campus facilities to difficulties in obtaining the necessary adjustments.
This course explores the challenges that disabled students face in higher education and offers practical solutions to help staff and faculty better support them, ensuring that all students can thrive in their higher educational experience.
