VinciWorks’ suite of training on modern slavery now includes three courses:
- Modern Slavery: Raise your Awareness — basic overview of the signs of modern slavery
- Modern Slavery: Preventing Exploitation — basic training for all staff
- Modern Slavery: Practical Steps for Procurement — advanced training for procurement and supply chain professionals
Like all VinciWorks courses, the modern slavery courses can be fully customised to:
- Fit internal procedures
- Adhere to internal style
- Include extra relevant information
In fact, every word of the courses can easily be customised.
Below are examples of the four most common customisation requests that we have collected in order to help organisations better understand best-practice for customisation.
1. Opening quote
The course Modern Slavery: Prevention Exploitation features a quote by Theresa May underscoring the severity of modern slavery. Many firms have replaced this quote with a quote or letter from an executive that reiterates the organisation’s commitment to combating slavery.
This quote sets the tone for the course and conveys the deep responsibility that all staff should feel towards the issue.
2. The organisation’s modern slavery statement
Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act requires organisations to publish a statement that details the steps they are taking to combat slavery in the supply chain. Many firms use VinciWorks’ modern slavery courses as a way to communicate this statement and other policies related to whistle-blowing and modern slavery to all staff.
The statement can be incorporated into the course and administrators can track who has completed the course and read the statement.
3. What to do if an employee uncovers signs of slavery
Organisations can incorporate details of internal whistleblowing procedures and the contact details of key personnel that are responsible for supply chain issues.
This enables firms to report in their modern slavery statement that they have whistleblowing procedures in place that have been communicated to all staff.
4. Industry specific scenarios
Every business is different, and no two supply chains are alike. A key component of effective training is for the scenarios to be relevant to trainees. The dangers of slavery are different in every sector.
VinciWorks can work with you to create scenarios that are relevant to your business, or you can use scenarios from VinciWorks’ pre-written bank. Some of the industries in the scenario-bank include:
- Clothing
- Construction
- Consumer
- Corporate
- Hotel
- Legal
- Wine
