In this course, you will gain a practical understanding of mental health, recognise when students may be struggling with their mental health, and explore how to respond safely and confidently.

Description

This course is designed for staff in further and higher education who support students. It outlines what mental health, mental wellbeing and resilience mean, and look at the particular pressures and stressors students face. Through practical guidance, case studies and interactive exercises, learners will explore how to recognise possible signs of distress, respond appropriately in both urgent and non-urgent situations, hold safe and boundaried conversations, and signpost students to relevant support services.

  • Know which red flags to look out for
  • Understand how to offer appropriate support to Students suffering with Mental Health issues
