Description

Martyn’s Law, formally the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, places security duties on many publicly accessible premises and events across the UK.

Everyone learns how to respond if an attack is suspected, choosing between evacuation, invacuation and lockdown in realistic scenarios, and how to protect security information and report concerns. Learners responsible for compliance go further, covering scope and tiers, responsibility on shared sites, notifying the Security Industry Authority (SIA), building workable procedures, enhanced tier measures and the SIA’s enforcement powers.

A role builder routes each learner to the right units, so the course takes 20 to 60 minutes depending on their track.

Course Objectives

  • Choose the right response if you suspect a terrorist attack, and adapt if the situation changes
  • Keep security information private
  • Report suspicious behaviour and gaps in your organisation’s plans
  • Work out whether premises or events are in scope, and which tier applies
  • Plan procedures for your site that staff can actually follow
