Over the past decade, there has been a substantial increase in the worldwide refugee population, making it one of the most pressing humanitarian crises in recent history.
Among these refugees are LGBTQ+ individuals who, in addition to the challenges faced by all refugees, face persecution and violence perpetrated against them in many parts of the world. Because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, these individuals are vulnerable to imprisonment, torture, or even death.
