VinciWorks appoints Shmuli Goldberg as CEO with a focus on making compliance training personal to every learner

Shmuli Goldberg

VinciWorks, the compliance eLearning and software provider, has appointed Shmuli Goldberg as chief executive officer, succeeding Josh Goodhardt, who has served as chief executive since 2021. Goodhardt will remain with VinciWorks in an advisory role through the transition and the rest of the financial year, while Goldberg steps up from his combined role as chief marketing officer and head of AI.

The appointment follows a period of sustained growth. Since Marlowe acquired VinciWorks in 2021, the company has completed five acquisitions, integrating each into a single product, technology and course library. In 2023, VinciWorks became part of Axiom GRC, the governance, risk and compliance group backed by private equity firm Inflexion.

Goodhardt joined VinciWorks close to two decades ago, working his way up through operations leadership to chief operating officer before being appointed chief executive.

Goodhardt said the handover reflects what the business needs next, “Our product set is ripe for disruption, and the team is in place. What VinciWorks needs next is someone who can run at the target, and Shmuli is exactly that leader.”

Goldberg joined VinciWorks three years ago as chief marketing officer, and has since been a key part of the company’s commercial strategy and its investment in AI. Before VinciWorks, he spent close to two decades in the technology startup world, leading marketing, communications and commercial teams in legal technology, cyber security and data protection at ClickTale, Feedvisor, LawGeex and Identiq.

Shmuli Goldberg said, “I am hugely honoured to take this on. Josh has spent nearly twenty years building VinciWorks into the company it is today, and I do not take the responsibility of building on that lightly. My priority is to keep doing the things that already make VinciWorks work, while moving faster to meet where our customers and the market are heading.”

Goldberg takes over with a clear priority: to make compliance training feel as though it was built for each person taking it, while keeping expert-written content at the heart of the product. VinciWorks has tailored courses to individual clients through its bespoke courses and in-browser editor, and AI has now made that level of customisation possible at scale. Goldberg is spearheading VinciWorks’ AI authoring tool, planned for release in the coming months, with compliance expertise embedded at its core.

He will continue to lead VinciWorks’ expansion of tools including Conversational Learning, an AI-powered interactive training format the company was first to launch in the eLearning sector in June 2025, replacing click-through modules with a live dialogue that adapts to each learner’s responses and level of understanding; and AI Enhanced Editing, which lets customers adapt existing compliance courses to their own business needs in minutes rather than weeks.

Goldberg said, “Good compliance training changes behaviour, and humans train humans best. Our courses are written by subject matter experts and built on real, lived experience, and that will not change. What AI does brilliantly is adapt that expert-built training to any organisation’s exact circumstances, faster than ever before.”

Alex Dacre, chief executive at Axiom GRC, said, “Josh has been an exceptional leader, overseeing significant growth and playing a central role in building VinciWorks into the business it is today. On behalf of the Axiom GRC Board, I want to thank him for his contribution, and I am delighted to welcome Shmuli as CEO of VinciWorks as it enters its next phase of growth.”
