This course is designed to give you an overview of the key health and safety topics you need to know in order to be safe and well at work. Completing this course will help you comply with our health and safety obligations as an employer, and your health and safety responsibilities as an employee.
By completing this course, you will develop an understanding of relevant health and safety law, the responsibilities placed on yourself and us, and how to prevent, deal with, and report accidents and risks.
Course Objectives
- Understand the purpose of workplace health and safety laws and your responsibilities as an employee
- Recognise common slip and trip hazards and how to reduce the risks
- Set up your workstation correctly and safely to avoid strain and injury
- Describe fire safety procedures in your workplace
- Be aware of your building’s safety and security procedures
- Describe precautions to take when working near electrical equipment to avoid shocks, burns, and other risks
- Learn basic first aid techniques to offer support in case of an illness or injury
- Report accidents and near misses promptly so hazards can be fixed and legal obligations fulfilled
