As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping our course library relevant and up-to-date, some existing courses are due to be flagged as retired on the VinciWorks Portal and the VinciWorks Learning Management System (LMS) on 21 April. Here’s what you need to know about the retirement process and how it affects you.
What does course retirement mean?
When a course is flagged as retired, it means that while the course content is still valid and usable, it will no longer receive updates and will be replaced with a newer and better course. If you have already assigned these courses to your learners, they will remain active and accessible.
Will customised courses be affected?
No. Any customised versions of the retired courses will remain unaffected. If you have any queries about suitable replacements or would like guidance on the most up-to-date training options, please contact your account manager or follow the link for more details.
Improving your learning experience
We are always striving to enhance your learning experience. If you have any questions or concerns about course retirements or replacements, our friendly support team is here to help.
How the retirement process works
With the latest portal update on 16 March, the retirement process was streamlined to ensure a smooth transition.
Automatic replacement: If you have a suite/topic or the individual course is being retired, the replacement course will be added to your portal account automatically.
Edited or published courses: If you have edited or published the retired course, it will remain visible. You can still download or publish the course marked as retired, but you won’t be able to duplicate it or request extended customisation.
Untouched courses: If the retired course has not been edited or published, it will simply disappear from your portal.
If you are a VW LMS customer who doesn’t yet have access to our content management portal you will find the replacement course next time you log in. Astute administrators will see a message noting that the retired course has been archived but can still be used.
