Harassment and Sexual Misconduct – A Dialogue on the OfS Guidance (Staff)
An interactive, conversational learning course supporting staff to recognise harassment and sexual misconduct, complying with the Office for Students' E6 guidelines – both as it affects students, and in a staff on staff context.
Description
In this conversational learning course, learners are placed at the centre of the complex and sensitive issues surrounding harassment and sexual misconduct in higher education. Through realistic, thought-provoking drama scenarios and expert insights, learners explore the boundaries of acceptable behaviour both on and off campus, online and in person. The interactive format provides space to reflect on the various types of harassment and sexual misconduct, consider how to respond as a member of staff and an active bystander, as well as navigating the balance between freedom of speech and protection from harm.
Learners are encouraged to examine assumptions, and biases, and engage meaningfully with their responsibilities under the OfS' Condition E6 — within a learning environment that turns passive training into active, practical engagement.
Please note that some scenarios involve depictions of harassment and sexual misconduct, which some learners may find distressing.
